University Lecturers and Students’ Perceptions about Online Teaching and Learning during the Outbreak of COVID 19 in Northern Zone of Tanzania

Online education is provided by fewer universities in Africa than the western world. However, during outbreak of COVID 19 many were forced to embrace online teaching and learning, even those who against it. The opened new ways learning that most had adopt for their survival. This study was carried out explore beliefs Tanzanian lecturers students on 19. anchored Technology Acceptance Model applying a concurrent triangulation design, which helped researcher collect both qualitative quantitative data. targeted university lecturers, Deputy Vice Chancellors, academics, selected full- fledged northern part Tanzania. findings indicate positive about use there no statistically significant difference perceptions mean scores between various challenges identified hamper smooth running such as lack adequate resources, poor connectivity internet knowledge skills how platforms. recommends have improve availability resources invest staff capacity building motivate more effectively.
